Summer of AI
In the summer of 2026, Bremen will become an international hub for artificial intelligence. The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, held in conjunction with the European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI-ECAI 2026), will bring several thousand researchers and other guests from around the world to the Hanseatic city in August. Surrounding the conference, the “Summer of AI” will feature a diverse program encompassing science, technology, business, education, and culture—ranging from international academic conferences and public lectures to AI lounges, hands-on activities, networking events, and art installations throughout the city. From the University of Bremen’s OPEN CAMPUS through the German Unity Day, Bremen will thus present itself over several months as a prominent hub for artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
