In early June 2025, Intensifying Cross-Sectoral Innovation within the European Union officially launched with a successful kick-off event in Vienna. The project’s objective is to transform traditional sector-based networks into cross-sectoral innovation ecosystems in eight European regions, in order to address various societal challenges.
During the two-day kick-off meeting, the project partners exchanged ideas, aligned on roles and gathered for the first interregional workshop of the project. The workshop focused on applying the ‘Strategic Foresight’ methodology to explore future trends and opportunities. These will now be further developed within each partner region and discussed at the next interregional workshop in West Flanders.
The partner regions involved in the project are West Flanders (Belgium), Lower Austria (Austria), Tampere (Finland), San Sebastián (Spain), Warmia-Masuria (Poland), Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Vojvodina (Serbia), and Bremen (Germany). The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation represents the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in the project.
