The old merchant saying makes it clear that the federal state of Bremen has a long tradition as a trading location. The Low German phrase “buten un binnen, wagen un winnen” translates as “outside and inside, dare and win”. The ports of Bremen are among the central logistics hubs in Europe - with strong container handling, important heavy goods ports and an outstanding position in automobile handling. The foreign representative offices of WFB in the focus countries China, USA, Vietnam and Turkey and of bremenports in Austria and the Czech Republic play a special role here. Together with Bremen's investment companies and the Chamber of Commerce, the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen actively supports the internationalization of Bremen's economy and the marketing of the location. A key instrument in this is appearing at international trade fairs and conferences - often in the form of jointly organized stands that make Bremen visible worldwide as an attractive business location.
