Start it up! The Health Start-up Weekend at the Integrated Health Campus Bremen
The “Start it up” start-up weekend of the integrated health campus Bremen will take place from November 28-30, 2025. Solutions for current issues and challenges in the fields of nursing and health will be developed – with you – regardless of your field of study!
What to expect:
Kick-off (October 21), 3–6 p.m.
Storytelling café (November 14), 3–5 p.m.
Visit to BAALL (November 19; for students of the University of Bremen)
Start It Up – Start-up Weekend (November 28–30)
1) We will start together with a kick-off event, where you will learn exactly what to expect at Start it up! The Health Start-up Weekend of the Integrated Health Campus Bremen. In addition, BRIDGE, the start-up support service at Bremen’s universities, will give you an overview of the ideation process and various creativity and questioning techniques with the help of short practical exercises.
2) Here you will have the opportunity to interview experts from various fields on current issues and challenges in the areas of care, health, and technology. This will allow you to develop ideas or get to know other participants. Students at the University of Bremen will receive further training on expert interviews from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
3) For students at the University of Bremen: On November 19, 2025, you can visit the Bremen Ambient Assisted Living Lab (BAALL) at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) to experience the latest innovations in health and care live and learn about challenges in care, research, and development.
4) The core of the course is the “Start it up” start-up weekend of the integrated health campus Bremen from November 28 to 30, 2025. From Friday morning to Sunday evening, you will develop your idea in a team and conclude the weekend with a pitch. Participation in the entire weekend is mandatory to obtain the certificate of achievement.
The event is open to all bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral students from all disciplines who are interested in starting a business. In individual cases, people from outside the universities can also participate in the weekend only. To do so, please contact the program coordinator.
No preparation or prior experience is necessary.
