Hydrogen is a versatile energy source on the path to a climate-neutral future. As a hub for science, climate research, and offshore wind energy, Bremerhaven sees hydrogen playing a key role in the further development of its economy and science toward a green and circular economy.

In recent years, Bremerhaven has developed into a test region and center of excellence for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in northern Germany. Joint projects between scientific institutions and companies have contributed to the regional ramp-up of the hydrogen economy.
