2nd expert dialogue: 'Innovative start-up locations and districts of the future' from July 1st, 2020 to July 17th, 2020

The city of Bremen wants to become even more attractive for founders. As part of the update of the City of Bremen's business development program (GEP 2030), a study on the topic of company start-ups was commissioned in order to further qualify Bremen as a technology and start-up location.

The first results of this study were originally supposed to be presented by experts at an in-person event on March 26, 2020 in the heating plant in the Tabakquartier and discussed in a lively exchange between the actors involved. Due to the corona pandemic, this event had to be canceled and planned in a new digital participation format. The expert dialogue was replaced by an online dialogue that addressed the main topics of the event.

Process of the online dialogue

Representatives of the Bremen start-up scene, the administration and Bremen institutions were invited to discuss the first results of the study, summarized in the discussion threads "Bremen as a start-up city", "Proven and new start-up locations" and "Location requirements of the Bremen start-up scene" and thus further qualify the study. A total of around 150 comments and suggestions were received from around 35 active participants from various sectors.

Even though the Corona crisis will certainly have an impact on the way we work in the future, we will continue to need places where we can come together to develop and implement common ideas. Various current development projects illustrate the heterogeneous range of offers that Bremen as a location can make available to companies.
